Near-infrared spatial solitons in heavy metal oxide glasses.
We demonstrate two-dimensional spatial solitons excited by near-infrared picosecond pulses in Kerr-like heavy metal oxide glasses with a nonlinearity one order of magnitude larger than in fused silica. Solitons were obtained at 820 nm owing to the presence of multiphoton absorption, which prevented catastrophic collapse.
متن کاملTransition metal-doped chalcogenide glasses for broadband near-infrared sources
In this paper we report the spectroscopic data for samples of 0.031% iron, 0.017% nickel, 0.01% chromium and 0.017% cobalt (molar) doped gallium lanthanum sulphide (GLS) glass. Photoluminescence (PL) with a full width half maximum (FWHM) of around 500 nm and peaking between 1120 nm and 1460 nm is observed when excited using wavelengths of 850 nm and 1064 nm. The emission lifetime for nickel-dop...
متن کاملNear Infrared Plasmonic Gas Sensing with Doped Metal Oxide Nanocrystals
In this paper, we demonstrate the application of ZnO doped with gallium (GZO), aluminum (AZO) and germanium (GeZO) nanocrystals as novel plasmonic and chemiresistive sensors for the detection of hazardous gases including hydrogen (H2) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2). GZO, AZO and GeZO nanocrystals are obtained by non-aqueous colloidal heat-up synthesis with high transparency in the visible range and...
متن کاملSuperbroadband near-infrared emission and energy transfer in Pr3+-Er3+ codoped fluorotellurite glasses.
We report the first demonstration of superbroadband emission extending from 1.30 to 1.68 μm in praseodymium(Pr(3+))-erbium(Er(3+)) codoped fluorotellurite glasses under 488 nm excitation. This superbroad near-infrared emission is contributed by the Pr(3+): (1)D(2)→(1)G(4) and Er(3+): (4)I(13/2)→(4)I(15/2) transitions which lead to emissions located at 1.48 and 1.53 μm, respectively. The quenchi...
متن کاملStructural and up-conversion luminescence properties in Tm3+/Yb3+-codoped heavy metal oxide-halide glasses.
Tm3+/Yb3+-codoped heavy metal oxide-halide glasses have been synthesized by conventional melting and quenching method. Structural properties were obtained based on the Raman spectra, indicating that halide ion has an important influence on the phonon density and maximum phonon energy of host glasses. Intense blue and weak red emissions centered at 477 and 650 nm, corresponding to the transition...
